Mob torches Muslim youth’s shop for eloping with Hindu girl

Bareilly: The incident of an elopement intensified at Nadeli village, after a mob allegedly torched a Muslim youth’s pharmacy on Sunday. The twenty-year-old Raees Ahmed had eloped with a sixteen-year-old Hindu girl.

The mob also ransacked boy’s house in Bareilly’s village. BJP MLA Chhatrapal Gangwar also got involved giving an ultimatum of 24 hours to police for finding the girl. The MLA said, if the police fail to search her, he would then take the matter to Chief Minister.

Considering the possible consequences, and fearing the police action, men from both communities fled the village as police filed FIRs against them. According to police, the duo had eloped after Holi on March 3, reported The Times of India.
