‘Muslim employees data sent to Centre’, Central Government ordered! — Health Department, Rajasthan

Jaipur: In what sounds unfamiliar and skeptical move arising questions, the Rajasthan Government has recently collected the State Muslims employed by the Health Department data and sent it to the Central Government.

Rajasthan’s State Directorate of Medical, Health and Family Welfare Services in a letter dated 30 November has sought information on all Muslim employed by the State Government, posted across the state, at all sub-centres, public health centres and community health centres.

The letter was addressed to all chief medical and health officers (CMHOs) across the state, asking for Muslim employees personal details.

Referring to the Rajasthan’s “Deputy Secretary, Union Health Ministry” order dated November 20, signed by B L Saini, joint director, administration, of the state directorate, said: “In the pro forma attached with the letter, furnish information of Muslim employees posted at sub-centres, public health centres (PHCs) and community health centres (CHCs) under your jurisdiction, and ensure that it is mailed immediately to the departmental email id…”

The letter threw insight to the information being forwarded to the central government.

When Saini was contacted by The Indian Express, he told: “The Government of India had recently asked every state to collect details of employees from the minority community so that welfare schemes, as per the Sachar Committee’s recommendations, can be implemented,” adding that, “The information was compiled and sent to the Government of India as per the instructions that we received.”
