Dilshad and Shah Rukh claimed that they brought the bovines for rearing from a temple priest, who was in the vehicle carrying cows.
SHAMLI: Activists of Gau Raksha Seva Dal mercilessly thrashed, paraded two Muslims on suspicious of transporting cows for slaughter.
According to Indiatimes reports, the incident took place on Monday in Adarsh Mandi area of Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district when vigilantes intercepted the truck ferrying two cows.
The two men identified as Dilshad and Shah Rukh claimed that they brought the bovines for rearing from a temple priest, who was in the vehicle carrying cows.
But the vigilantes did not believe him and took the law into their hands and allegedly thrashed them with leather belts and sticks in full public view. The priest was not attacked.

Shamli police soon rushed to the spot and rescued the youth. Two separate cases were registered and arrested the duo from the minority community on the complaint of the ‘Gau Raksha Dal’.
The police also arrested Anuj Bansal, the head of the Shamli Hindu Gau Rakshak Dal and investigation is underway to identify his aides.
