Prof Shakeel Samdani of AMU appointed as the national-patron of ‘All-India Minority Lawyers Association’.

Aligarh, February 20: Prof Shakeel Samdani (Department of Law, Aligarh Muslim University—AMU) has been appointed as the national-patron of ‘All-India Minority Lawyers Association’.

He was appointed after a decision taken on the consensus of executive-council members of the association during a meeting.

Advocate Haji Nizam Khan (President, All-India Minority Lawyers Association) said that it is a privilege to have Prof Samdani as the national patron. “He has expertise in Islamic Jurisprudence, Muslim law relating to status, Islamic legal system, public international law and human rights law among other areas,” said Advocate Khan.

He added that Prof Samdani has been dedicated to the cause of upholding justice for the under-privileged and human rights for over two decades. “As an academic, Prof Samdani is popular in AMU and universities and law colleges all over the country,” said Advocate Khan.

The All-India Minority Lawyers Association which has members from all over the country from various religious and ethnic backgrounds was establish 19-years ago. This association is functioning in 15 states.
