Featured Delhi violence : Swami Shivanand Saraswati presents prayer mats to burnt Farooqyia mosque

New Delhi: A team Khudai Kidmatgar volunteers along with Hindu religious leaders Swami Shivanand Saraswati(Matrsadan) and Swami Punyanand (Haridwar) on Tuesday visited riot-affected areas of Idgaah, Brajpuri ,Shivpuri and Mustafabad in North East Delhi which witnessed horrific target violence against Muslim community last week.

Spreading the message of peace and compassion, they expressed solidarity with riot-hit families. While condemning violence, Swami Shivanand Saraswati ji said “People of all the faiths and beliefs are equal. Sun, rain, wind and entire creation treats every human as equal and there is no way to justify such violence and hatred.

Such acts are against ” Insaniyat” which is must for human existence and has nothing to do with any religion . Such acts are politically motivated “, he added.

Swami ji also led a peace March from Idgaah to Farooqiya Masjid with singing ” Insan ka insane se ho bhai chara, Yahi hai paigham hamara” and raising slogans ” Hindu, Muslim Sikh Isaa, aapas mian Bhai Bhai” Farooqiya Mosque was desecrated and set on fire by the Hindutva mob during the violent attacks on the members of Muslim community in the presence of police force.Swami ji saw each and every corner of the mosque and said ” This act violence was beyond imagination. There’s no place for violence in Dharma, in true religion. The true function of Dharma is love, non-violence, peace and service. Violence is the function of adharma”.

He talked to the Mosque and Madrassa committee members and expressed his sympathy and solidarity with them. He also gifted Jaiynamaz (prayer mat ) for the Mosque and asserted that our true heritage is the lesson of’ ‘vasudhaiv kutumbakam’, it is the responsibility of each of us to carry forward the legacy”.

Faisal Khan, the National Convener of Khudai Kidmatgar, said that the message by Swami ji was to practice true religion and we all were touched by his gesture . Magsaysay Awardee Dr Sandeep Pandey , Khudai Kidmatgar team members Husnain Beg, Jayalekshmi, Kripal Singh Mandloi, Shariq Choudhury, Suyash Tripathi, Sayed Tehseen Ahmed ,Susheel Khanna, Shabir Hussain, Chand Shaikh, Ehtsham Hashmi and Mayaraj were participated in the March.
