Mumbai: Supreme Court will hear the appeal filed by the CBI, challenging the High Court judgment in which 12 Muslims were acquitted in Haren Pandya murder case, on Tuesday, November 27. This was informed by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind which is providing legal help to the accused. The organisation has engaged the services of senior advocates like Raju Ramachandran, Amrendra Sharan, Neta Rama Krishnan, Irshad Ahmed, and M Prabhakar.

According to sources, the petition filed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will be heard by a 2 member bench of Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Vineeth Sharan.

Haren Pandya was killed on March 26, 2003, after which CBI had arrested 12 Muslim youth on the basis of suspicion and booked a case against them. The lower court held them guilty after which Jamiat Ulama filed a petition in High Court. All the 12 accused were acquitted by the High Court. It also issued their release orders. However, CBI filed a petition in Supreme Court challenging the High Court judgement.
