New Delhi: For several years news channels are conducting debates regarding Muslims and Islam. All this is planned and doesn’t aim at solving the issue but to make fun of a particular community and to give other community a chance to attack that particular community. For a healthy discussion, there should be an equal number of speakers for and against the issue but the panel of the debate on TV channels indicate that the debate is not done seriously but to tarnish the image of Islam. Here if 6 persons are called for the debate 5 are against the issue while only one Maulvi is called to defend the issue. When 5 people are speaking against him and the anchor is also trying to pressurize the Maulvi then it is for sure that the end result will be either the Maulvi will be defeated or it will result into a physical scuffle.

The Muslim scholars have appealed the Maulvis who are invited by the TV channels to boycott the debates. Convener of Delhi Islah-e-mashera committee of All India Muslim Personal Law Board said that the Ulama for the sake of fame and wealth participate in the debates even though they know that this will tarnish the image of the religion.

General Secretary Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Delhi, Maulana Abdur Razzaq said that it has become a business for the so-called moulvis to participate in the TV debates with no or little knowledge of shariah.
