Muslims stage strong protest against Namaz ban in Taj Mahal masjid

Agra: The matter of offering 5 times prayer in Taj Mahal masjid is taking a political turn. After offering Friday prayers Muslims announced to offer 5 times prayer in the masjid and decided to send the proposal to the central government.

On November 16, hundreds of Muslims led by national president of Sarvdaliya Muslim Action Committee Haji Jameeluddin Qureshi offered Friday prayer and after the prayer, Mr Qureshi presented a proposal before the devotees which was unanimously accepted by all.

Mr Quraishi strongly opposed the forceful banning of namaz by ASI in Taj Mahal and said the namaz is being offered for 400 years and was hitherto never opposed by anyone. But since BJP came to power it has been interfering into religious affairs of the people, which will not be tolerated by the Muslims.

He said in view of 2019 general elections BJP is raising such types of issues to polarise the people.
