Saudi Arabia makes medical insurance must for Umrah Pilgrims

Riyadh: Minister for Haj and Umrah, Dr. Mohammed Saleh told that medical
insurance has been made compulsory for the Umrah pilgrims who visit Saudi
Arabia from various countries.

The Saudi Minister of Haj signed an agreement with the chairman of the insurance company.

Dr. Saleh told that the Govt. of Saudi wants to offer better health facilities to Umrah pilgrims.

Insurance coverage

This insurance covers the cost of healthcare, ambulance service in case of traffic accidents, natural calamities. It also includes coverage for loss of luggage, delay in flights, etc.

This insurance scheme will be implemented in collaboration with the Saudi insurance agencies. It will be for 30 days.

Fee for Umrah is 300 Saudi Riyals which is collected from the pilgrims of 49 countries. For medical insurance, an amount of 110 Saudi Riyals will be collected.
