United Muslim Forum playing in the hands of two political parties

Hyderabad: United Muslim Forum has started making an attempt to sing the song of unity among the Muslims extending its benefit to a specific political party.

The so-called spokesman of the forum by issuing a press statement made an attempt to create an impression that all the Muslim organizations including Jamat-e-Islami are united on the issue of Islamic Shariat.

The fact is that the mass meetings are being organized in various districts of Telangana by Jamat-e-Islami at the instance of Muslim Personal Law Board.

It may be noted that the unity of Muslim organizations is the religious obligation of the Muslims not of any forum.

The disruption created while Mr. Hamid Mohammed Khan of Jamat-e-Islami was addressing a gathering at Nizamabad was not liked by the Muslims.

Many persons contacted Siasat and expressed their anxiety that Jamat-e-Islami was included in the forum treacherously so that the protest programs in the districts could meet with success.

The strategy was to exploit the cadre of Jamat-e-Islami to strengthen MIM. If the protest meetings to protect Shariat are not political, how is it that only the leaders of MIM and TRS are seen on the stage and why were not the leaders of other political parties invited? Is it that only these two political parties are interested in protecting Shariat?

It may be mentioned that Congress, TDP, Muslim League, MBT, Muslim Shibban and other organizations are working for the protection of Shariat but why were they not invited on the stage? It may be due to their differences with MIM.

It may be mentioned that in 2004 and 2009 elections, MIM campaigned in favour of Congress but in the present context, Congress has become an opposition party. It is very surprising that in consultative meetings, only TRS leaders are being invited. It is a fact that TRS took a stand in the parliament on the issue of Triple Talaq which supported the Central Govt. The leaders of TRS did not participate in both the houses in discussions and they did not utter a single word against the bill. In such a situation, how can MIM forge an alliance with TRS.

MP of Hyderabad did not bother to seek clarification of the stand taken by TRS. The present president of the forum has enjoyed the status of the chairman of Urdu Academy during Congress regime. Even today, he holds secret meetings with the Congress leaders for getting donations to fulfill the needs of his madrasa.

It may be noted that Jamat-e-Islami refused to accept any political position and dissociated itself from the forum in the past on this issue.

The spokesman of MIM is making an attempt to prove that Hyderabad MP argued against Triple Talaq in the Parliament but what is the use of such argument if it failed to stop passing this bill.

A.T. Basheer of Muslim League and Pappu Yadav of RJD also spoke in favour of Islamic Shariat but no mention was made of their support.

The real deed was performed by 18 opposition parties which stopped the bill from passing in Rajya Sabha. Don’t they deserve gratitude?
